A Global leading Company

We are pleased to be appointed by a Global Leading Company in the promotional products industry to carry out an Environmental & Social Accountability Supplier Assessment. They have over 200 suppliers located from Southern China to Northern China. The purpose is to assess their suppliers’ status and see how far they are deviated from ISO 14001 requirement & vendor code of conduct. After the completion of assessment, professional comments have been given by our assessors for their continuous improvement.

Supplier Assessment is one of the best ways to ensure suppliers to follow the processes and procedures that sourcing companies agreed during the selection processes. We are pleased to announce that following the ISO 9001，ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certificate presentation to Transport Infrastructure Management Limited (Tsing Ma Control Area) on November 24, 2007. On September 13, 2008, the Transport Infrastructure Management Limited (Tsing Sha Control Area) has been successfully awarded the Integrated Management System Certificate once again, which contained the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. These worldwide recognitions ensure their management systems can meet the international standard and strengthen its position in the market.

To reduce human error accidents in the Tsing Sha Control Area (T.S.C.A.), Transport Infrastructure Management Limited (Tsing Sha Control Area) was in great request of a high quality management system, especially, the one could help them handling some thunderbolts. ISO 14001 ensures them in achieving their performance pledges of maintaining the environmental standard within the tunnels and the T.S.C.A. The company’s vehicle team involved large amount of employees who often work on the busy highway. OHSAS 18001 is related to occupational health and safety management systems for risk management and performance optimization. It can help to raise the safety awareness to every staff, contractors, suppliers as well as business partners.

Being successfully awarded the three certificates, the Management of T.S.C.A. was delighted. ACI is proudly to be invited by the Hong Kong General Building Contractors Association Limited (HKGBCA) to present a seminar on “Understanding & Application for ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System in August 2008, to cope with the growing concerns of their members and the industry. HKGBCA is a well-known organization with the main objective to enhance contractors’ contribution to the society, together with continuous improvement of work quality and to provide resources in upgrading the professional standard.

The seminar was successfully drew the attention of all participants on the effectiveness of applying ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 in their work. There were much appreciation and good feedbacks afterward. Through this seminar, they can learn important messages of safety and health in construction industry. ISO 14001 standard can ensure companies to achieve their performance within the environmental standard. Meanwhile, OHSAS 18001 standard can assure good practice in working environment related to occupational health and safety.

With just one month to go, the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games Opening Ceremony will be held on 8 August at 8 p.m., and HKSAR Government will co-host the Equestrian Events in Hong Kong. International Accreditation Day (9 June 2008)

9 June 2008 has been picked up as the International Accreditation Day by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILCA). ACI is accredited by HKAS; we support the activity and appreciate a lot over the contributions of accreditation to the society and customers.

The value of accreditation has been widely recognized and adopted by economies and societies worldwide. The theme for this year’s International Accreditation Day is “trust”, which is used to highlight the way in which accreditation regulations and procedures are probably implemented at a worldwide recognized level to ensure products and services reaching the customers’ requirements and public interest.

International organizations, such as World Health Organization (WHO), International Standard Organization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) also appreciate the international accreditation networks. In fact, the accreditation plays an important in health, safety and well-being of the public. The use of ISO International Standards as the reference criteria for accreditation and the development of the international accreditation network are thereby the key to build trust across borders and promoting best practices in conformity assessment worldwide.

ACI has participated in voluntary activities (5 December 2007)

The United Nations set 5th December of each year as the International Voluntary Day, to demonstrate our concern to the society, ACI has participated in the visiting of volunteer activities and prize awarding ceremonies as a support to the voluntary services. The voluntary activities were organized by the Agency for Voluntary Service, the Crystal Group and the China Resources Vanguard (HK) Company Limited for the consecutive forth year. The aims are to encourage organizations in different industries, schools and volunteers to participate in visit and other events to show our love and care to the minority.

ACI is an organization which is willing to commit themselves into these meaningful things. ACI fully support these meaningful voluntary activities, we also concern about the benefits of the minority. It is not just a social responsibilities for ACI and our staff, meanwhile, it is more appropriate saying that we are concerning about the world near us, especially in Hong Kong.

ACI has frequently participated in the voluntary activities and giving feedbacks to our society. We would also like to promote these ideas to our customers, so as to work hard together for a better living environment for Hong Kong.
